Friend Bill Sullivan made quite a splash with his candid photographs of people going through subway turnstyles, elevator passengers and having their portraits painted. Bill's command of the portrait comes from a long investigation of the portrait through his paintings. Not surprisingly there are many similarities in his painted works which will be on opening tomorrow night at the Sasha Wolf Gallery in NYC.
Bill wears funny hats so he's easy to spot (so how does he make those candid pics then.... ;) so go and say hello for me.
