Openings Galore!

Tonight marks the opening of the fall art season here in Chicago. It’ll certainly be a whirlwind in gallery land from until Xmas.
A few shows I’m sure to check out tonight are:
Alec Soth: Dog Days, Bogota, Stephen Daiter, 311 W. Superior.
Larry Snider, Exploring the Sacred: Varanas, Douglas Dawson Gallery, 400 N. Morgan.
Angels in America: Steve Kiester, Gordon Matta-Clark, Robert Overby, Laura Riboli, Jennifer West and more, curated by Terry R. Meyers., Rhona Hoffamn Gallery, 118 N. Peoria.
Rashid Johnson: The New Escapist Promised Land Garden and Recreation Center and Cosmic Slops, Monique Meloche, 118 N. Peoria.
The Franks, An Improbable Coincidence of Wants, Rowland Contemporary, 118 W. Fulton Market.
John Opera, Zoar and Other Works, Andrew Rafacz Gallery (formerly Bucketrider), 835 West Washington

There are literally hundreds more and I’m hoping to see some good surprises.

And next weekend:
Psychodrama: New photographs by Jill Frank
Opening Reception: 7-10pm, Friday, September 12
Golden, 816 W Newport #1 (between Halsted and Clark)
