Claire Beckett, Private Allison Bronner, 2006
Just returning to Chicago from photographing at the Scope Hamptons fair in NY and met with Claire Beckett who was in town from Boston. Claire’s making some exciting work which addresses larger political, social issues, not a popular choice in most of the current fantasy-land art climate.
Its always nice during the summers to have the time to spend meeting new and seeing old friends as they visit or pass through Chicago. This summer has had a bunch of great visitors to the city and whether over coffee, beers or prints it’s great to discuss ideas, and strategies in person.
Here’s some of the visitors so far:
Amy Stein, Peter Baker, Arnie Tunstall, Claire Beckett, Cory Scozzari (the -best-intern-ever), Nicole Stanner, Chris Mottalini, and Shawn Records.
Keep em coming.
