After a 9 hour return flight from Munich and about a 12 hour sleepfest I’m right back into the thick of things and trying hard to get caught up with the endless; emails, posts, scanning, teaching, printing, etc… Luckily Munich was fantastique, invigorating and i’m full of more ideas than time to do them, a wonderful thing.
This week is spread thin in one of my favorite ways, lectures. (Perhaps a longing for my days in a band?)
The first is this Wed. 9-19
Photoshelter City Tour
Alhambra Restaurant
1240 West Randolph
Chicago
2:15pm
Free
The second is a talk with some of favorite artists here in town with one of my favorite famous ones. Melanie Schiff, Ben Gest and I will be speaking with author Michael Newman about the current Jeff Wall exhibition at the Art Institute (and digital photography).
Thurs. 9-20
Art Institute of Chicago
111 South Michigan Avenue
6-7pm
Free
Hope to see (and hope the jet lag is gone)

Thank you for the lecture. I enjoyed seeing your work. Was wondering what your process for output is and where the digital process comes into play within your work.
Because the lighting is such a mess in many of the stores, I scan all my negs with a high end drum scanner and correct in Photoshop to get a neutral image. My prints are then printed as lightjet or lambda prints which are c-prints made from a digital file.
