Tracey Baran

A few years ago I worked at the Museum of Contemporary Photography while we had a solo show of Tracey’s amazingly bold and candid portraits of herself, family and friends. Tracey’s pictures struck me as so different than other auto-biographical work. Studied and formalistic scenes of poison ivy, her father in the bath, etc… appear more out of a David Lynch film than some hipster urban lifestyle (like many of the others).
Tracey has an opening of new work tonight. So if you’re in the tri-state area go, meet Tracey, marvel at her work and tell I said hi.
