Katrina Auction Part 2

Honored to be part of another amazing auction. This one is to benefit artists who were victims of Hurricane Katrina. It’s been organized by Christian Patterson, the William Eggleston Trust, and the Cheim and Reid Gallery.

One hundred percent of the proceeds will be distributed by PROJECT HEAL (Help Employ Artists Locally) of the Acadiana Arts Council. All funds raised will be designated to help New Orleans area artists and non-profit arts organizations in immediate need of financial assistance as a result of damages sustained from Hurricane Katrina.

The devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina to the New Orleans area has been catastrophic. The great attraction of New Orleans for tourists has always been its arts whether music, literature, architecture or the visual arts. In the aftermath of this tragedy, the infrastructure that sustained the visual arts has been completely shattered. This auction is an attempt to restore some of the support when it is most needed.

The auction is currently scheduled to begin on November 1, 2005 and end on November 11, 2005. To view and bid on art, go to eBay.com during these dates and search for “Project HEAL.”
